Here is what I have from my source. The board rejected commissioner O'Neils proposal. The board did however agree to take a closer look at the issue. With this new information I would not expect the board take any action soon, but you never know. After all it is an election year.
Just a note I have asked Mr. O'Neil if he would like to share his views with our readers. I hope he does. I said even thought we don't agree on this issue I do respect his view.

We'll have to wait and see. I wouldn't be suprised to see this issue arise around election time.
Commissioner Fink is the only Duluth area commissioner on the ballot this year, all the others up for re-election are from the Iron Range. If O'Neil believes Fink will vote no, and that vote will be unpopular in Duluth he may push for a vote before election time to hurt Fink's odds of reelection. It won't pass, but Iron Rangers who vote against the ban are unlikely to be hurt politically.
Who knows, all of the above could be mere idle speculation
Erik- This is an interesting point you bring up. It could be used as a political trap for commissioner Fink. I would hope O'Neil would not go so low but, I am not sure he wouldn't.
Excuse me, but are the three of us the only ones reading this blog?
Is anyone else out there?
Hello?
Many people read this blog, but many don't post. Why I don't know.
I never I thought I would get as many people reading as I do. My reports from were I a counter wich I can't figure out how to put on shows me that I am well over 2,000 vistors sence I joined a few month ago.
I think a blog is much like radio many come and read only a few post. I think as this issue gets more head lines you will get more people posting about however.
Bob: I wanted to thank you for being so civil as well. I know as this issue heats up when ever that maybe you will see both sides gather steam and I hope both sides stay civil.
Also as I said as this issue heats up you will find more more people post here and on almost on the range blog as well.
This issue will be difficult for the county to discuse and deal with.
