I've been thinking about customer service lately. Part of my
job is training people in how to interact with customers, so
I'm sensitive to both really good and really bad service.
What's your experiences lately in our community? Let me tell
you about a couple of mine. Last week I went into the
Electric Fetus to buy some music. I wanted something
different for a road trip my hubby and I are taking. I
picked up a CD and asked the clerk if he knew anything about
it. He answered "No, not really. It's a collection of jam
bands doing Talking Heads music." and walked away. Hmmm..I
was a little disappointed, as I could read that information
from the cd jacket. I then walked up to the counter and
said, "Well, I don't know...I love Talking Heads, I guess
I'll try it." He looked up and said, "Do you like the
Greatful Dead?" I replied, "No...I hate that noodly music!"
He then chuckled and gently said, "That's what jam bands
play, the noodly music. And frankly, if you like Talking
Heads, you should just get some Talking Heads." I answered,
"I thought "jam" meant more hard edged!" Now I had the
information I needed. He saw the lightbulb go off and rushed
around the counter to pick out several other selections. He
gave me lots of options and I ended up buying two used cd's
and one new. Wow...he turned out to be great!
The next experience was at a local restaurant. I'd left a tip on the
table and went up to pay cash for the tab. The
waitress/cashier asked, "Do you want your change?" Now, I
hate that! If I wanted to give it to her, I could do that
after she gives it to me. But now she's shilling for a
tip...tacky. And...she's assuming perhaps that I didn't
leave one on the table. So...what's your good/bad service
story. Perhaps someone will learn something from this!

It is always hard to get any service at the fetus. No matter it is good or bad, this is why I don't go in there offen. I think in the last three years I may have been in there twice.
I use to go all the time about six years ago and it was hard to get any service then.
I have not had any really bad service anywere. I did not have not the best service at the olive garden once here a few weeks ago.
My wife and I along with are little 10 month old went up ther and had supper. They were not very busy but the waitress was not very good. She paid little ation to our table and the rest of her tables. It was the first time ever we did not have very good service there.
With that being said I don't believe we have had outstanding service anywere either latly. We have had good service but nothing that is was outstanding.
Kb, you are right as well I hate when waitress/cahiers ask you if you want your change. This happens to us a few times when we go to a local restaurant as well.
This weekend we went to a Casino in Wisconsin. I was disappointed with the lackluster attitude of most of the employees. They didn't greet us and many were sitting around reading books. The cashiers were great, but other than that we felt we were bothering them. Now, this doesn't make me want to return to this property. We're not big gamblers, but a casino stay is a nice way for us to take a drive and spend a night somewhere different, and have time together. I intend to send this casino a little email, letting them in on my disappointment. How do folks feel about speaking up about poor service? And, do you tell people when they are good? I told the cashiers at this property that they were terrific, it was nice to see them perk up and smile, and thank me for my comment. Everyone likes a compliment, and they truly were great.
So I went to taco bell tonight on my way home.
It was about 10:30 or so and I walk in the door and there is no one at the counter so I stand and wait for some one as there is a table full of people, the employee was sitting there as well.
No comes after a minute and I know they saw me walk in as they all looked at me. I said hello no one came to the counter. Long story short I waited three minutes no one ever came to the counter.
They will hear about this. I have more about taco bell but it will have to wait as I am off to bed now.
We don't go to toca john's a lot but when we don't seem to get the best of service ever.
The last three times have been the worst. The first time of the three, the order was all wrong. I had ordered meat and patao burrio and got bean and cheese. The sad thing is I had a coupon for buy on get one free that the clerk saw, the clerk also read the order back correct. Yet when I got it was wrong, I went to tell them and the clerk said oh I thought that you said bean. Hello I showed you a coupon and you read it back right to us. My wifes was also not correct.
The second time the service was very slow even when there were not busy and the employees were not very friendly.
The last was last night when I did not even get any service.
I think I am done going to taco johns on centrel entrance.
My first post says taco bell, it should be taco john's. I did not relize that tell just now.
Did you ever think about contacting the owner? I don't know about you...but sometimes I think that owners might want to know that a customer has had more than one bad experience at their business. Especially if you don't plan on ever going back. In my book, if I had a customer who gave me multiple chances to get it right...and we didn't, I'd like to know so that we COULD get it right. You were a good customer...you gave them several chances, I'd challenge the owner to make it right or lose the business.
Oh yes I almost forgot to write about this.
I went into Rocky Mountain Choclate Factory in Canel Park after taking my daughter to canivail thrills. I walked around and there were three ladies behind the counter talking about whatever. They did not even bother to look up and notice me.
I said to one of the ladies that I was ready to order and she just looked at me and did not ask what I wanted or anything and contunied to chat with the other workers. I said again I am ready, no help came. I left the store thinking what has happend to good service?
This is the second time in a week I have recieved very poor or no service at all.
I have not yet but will because of the service I recieved write a letter to both places that I went into.
So the quesiton is were is the good service? Does it still excised?
Keep in mind it is not like I walk in there with an additude or anything, I have always walked into a place with a smile.
