Republicans not allowed into Franken show.

A group of friends were going to go and watch the Al Franken show at U.M.D. today. They had there tickets but were not allowed in the hall. Why you may ask? Well they had President Bush pins on, along with buttons that said we support our troops.

Isn't it funny how this happens. I bet you don't hear anything about this in the paper or on the news today.

John,

Everyone knows that liberals like Franken can't stand any criticism from someone using logic to stand up to them.

After the media hype about Bush not allowing protesters into his speeches I would hope the Trib covers it.

Do you know if UMD paid Franken to come, or if Franken paid to use the facility? If he did not pay it could have been a violation of the law to bar people based on their political persuasion.

Erik, Thanks for the comments. I think the local radio station that runs air america radio had to pay, however I am not sure. I was going to do some research and try to find that out.

Erik...same holds true for your side of the fence...if that were the case, I would have been allowed into the President's speech at the DECC...

Is it your contention that only those who believe and act the way you do should have a voice? what of the rest of the people who don't? what would you have done with them?
